We bless ourselves to remind us of our baptism
Father has very kindly invited us to church to learn all about baptism The oil of baptism used by a priest to make the sign of the cross over the heart of a baby to help strengthen him or her against any wrong things
The baptismal font. Parents and godparents stand around the font.
The priest will baptise the baby by pouring water on him/her 3 times.
The oil of chrism. Bless by the archbishop at Easter. The priest uses the oil of chrism to make a sign of the cross on the top of a babies head. It's a reminder that confirmation will happen when we are older
The baptismal candle. The cross reminds us that Jesus rose from the dead. There's water to symbolise baptism and a dove to represent the Holy Spirit. There's a rainbow to remind us of the story of Noah's ark and God's promise.
